Oman Participates in 21st Session of UNIDO General Conference in Riyadh

Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in tasks of the 21st session of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)’s General Conference, held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from 23 to 27 November 2025. Yousef Ahmed Al Jabri, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the UNIDO, delivered Oman’s speech at the conference, emphasizing the role of the international organization in supporting sustainable industrial development and boosting member states’ efforts to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

According to Oman News Agency, Al Jabri expressed appreciation for UNIDO’s contribution to Oman’s industrial growth, particularly in supporting national efforts related to environment protection, climate action, and enhancing industrial sectors aligned with Oman Vision 2040.

Eng. Khalid Salim Al Qassabi, Director General of Industry at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, stated that Oman’s participation in the conference presents a valuable opportunity to explore global experiences. He highlighted that the Global Industry Summit provides avenues for enhancing partnerships and accelerating industrial transition, supporting Oman’s Industrial Strategy 2040 in areas like green industries, innovation, and modern technologies aimed at promoting competitiveness and sustainability.

Al Qassabi also noted that the conference serves as a significant international platform for discussing the future of industry. Oman’s involvement in the event underscores its commitment to industrial development by establishing a business environment that attracts quality investments and supports economic diversification.
