Kuwait city: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 22nd session of the GCC States Joint Defence Council, which was held in Kuwait. Leading the Omani delegation was HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.
According to Oman News Agency, the council’s agenda focused on topics submitted by the higher military committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces in GCC states. The discussions centered on achievements in joint military cooperation among the member states. The meeting addressed significant matters aimed at bolstering the progress of GCC military collaboration to protect common interests.
The ministers concluded the session by emphasizing the need to enhance joint efforts for fortified military cooperation. This aligns with the objectives set by GCC leaders. Decisions and recommendations from the meeting will be forwarded to the Supreme Council of GCC Leaders for further consideration.
HH Sayyid Shihab was joined by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, along with senior SAF officers, highlighting Oman’s commitment to regional defense initiatives.
