North al batinah: The Municipal Council of North Al Batinah Governorate today convened its tenth meeting of the year, presided over by Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, with council members in attendance.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting involved a comprehensive review of initiatives and programs spearheaded by the Educational Research and Studies Committee at the Directorate General of Education in the governorate. Specialists from the committee provided a detailed presentation on their activities. In addition, the Council engaged with organizers of the "Wafaa" initiative, who outlined their vision and mission focused on delivering integrated social, health, and entertainment services to the elderly, persons with disabilities, and retirees.
The Council also assessed a report from the Social Affairs Committee, detailing field visits to the Wafaa Centers, the Al Noor Association for the Blind, and the Oman Association for Persons with Disabilities. The findings from the Social Affairs Committee's fifth meeting were also reviewed to provide deeper insights.
In further discussions, the Council examined outcomes from the Governorate Development Committee meetings. Key topics included proposals for establishing permanent venues for displaying and selling products from productive families across the wilayats, the conceptual framework for smart charging stations in Saham, and the planned construction of side channels along roads to support infrastructure utility extensions. Challenges faced by local sports and cultural teams at the governorate level were also a topic of discussion.
Lastly, the Council reviewed several responses from government entities addressing various local issues, highlighting the ongoing dialogue between the council and governmental bodies to enhance community services and initiatives.
