North al batinah: A ceremony was held today at Liwa Science and Innovation Centre in North Al Batinah Governorate to honour the winning student companies from the Future Pioneers Camp competition.
According to Oman News Agency, the camp was organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, as part of ongoing efforts to foster a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among school students.
The Future Pioneers Camp is one of the flagship programmes implemented by Riyada, aimed at cultivating a generation that is aware of the importance of entrepreneurship and capable of harnessing innovation across various fields. This aligns with national directions and the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which seek to build a knowledge-based economy founded on creativity and national progress.
The competition witnessed strong participation from a number of student companies, which presented diverse ideas and projects in the fields of technology, marketing, innovation, and entrepreneurship. These submissions demonstrated the students' ability to transform ideas into scalable business models, while also showcasing their skills in planning, presentation, marketing, and teamwork.
The ceremony also honoured the remaining student companies that participated in the camp, with the aim of motivating students to continue developing their projects and enhancing the sustainability of student-led entrepreneurial initiatives. This contributes to the development of their future skills and empowers them to play an active role in the economic and knowledge development journey.
