Shura Council Hosts Chinese Delegation to Bolster Bilateral Relations

Muscat: Tahir Mabkhout Al Junaibi, Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, received Xiao Jie, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, along with his delegation at the Council’s headquarters today. The visit is part of ongoing cooperation efforts between Oman and China, aiming to enhance joint initiatives.

According to Oman News Agency, the Deputy Chairman commended the advanced state of relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of further strengthening these ties to benefit mutual interests across various sectors. The discussions focused on expanding practical cooperation in areas such as investment, energy, trade, and cultural exchange, as well as enhancing legislative collaboration between the respective councils. Additionally, the meeting addressed recent regional and international developments of shared concern.

Xiao Jie, representing the Chinese side, expressed appreciation for the expanding Omani-Chinese relations and affirmed the significant progress both nations have achieved in fortifying their friendship. The meeting was also attended by several Shura Council members and the Chinese Ambassador to Oman.
