Al jabal al akhdar: The 11th session of the Oman-Kuwait Joint Committee was held today in Al Jabal Al Akhdar, A'Dakhiliyah Governorate. The session was chaired by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, and Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.
According to Oman News Agency, the two sides reviewed the march of the fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Kuwait, discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in priority fields to serve common interests. This reflects the aspirations of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.
Sayyid Badr highlighted the session's convening as an implementation of the leaderships' directives to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic, commercial, cultural, and scientific fields, and to exchange expertise and experiences for greater integration and partnership.
Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah noted that the 55th anniversary of Oman-Kuwait diplomatic relations this year reflects their development and growth, rooted in historical bonds and common goals, based on unity of destiny and identical visions.
The ministers affirmed that Omani-Kuwaiti relations are a model of fraternal relations in the GCC, based on historical ties, mutual respect, and constructive cooperation, supporting joint Gulf action and strengthening the GCC system.
The committee's proceedings concluded with Sayyid Badr and Sheikh Jarrah signing the meeting's minutes and a memorandum of understanding on cybersecurity and an executive program on standardization between Oman and Kuwait.
The meeting was attended by officials from both countries, including Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Al Maskari, Dr. Saleh Amer Al Kharousi, Hamad Rashed Al Marri, and Dr. Mohammad Nasser Al Hajri, among others.
