Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, received Dr. Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO). During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the existing aspects of cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the CTBTO Preparatory Commission.
According to Oman News Agency, both parties emphasized the importance of international cooperation and multilateralism in strengthening and supporting the disarmament and non-proliferation regime. They highlighted the consolidation of an approach based on dialogue and diplomacy as a fundamental choice for achieving international peace and security.
The discussions also included an exchange of views on the significance of technical cooperation and capacity building in the fields of monitoring and verification. The agenda covered combating radioactive leakage and its resulting damage, along with several issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Qatbi, Head of the International Organizations Department at the Foreign Ministry, and several officials from both sides.
