HM The Sultan Arrives in Bahrain for 46th GCC Summit

Manama: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the 46th GCC Summit. Upon his arrival at Sakhir Air Base, His Majesty and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Oman News Agency, His Majesty the Sultan passed between two rows of the Royal Bahraini Guard of Honour. After that, His Majesty shook hands with members of the welcoming party, including Jassim bin Mohammed Al Bedaiwi, GCC Secretary General; Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Ma’awda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments; Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information; Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate; Sayyid Faisal bin Harib Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Bahrain; Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman and several military leaders.

In turn, His Royal Highness shook hands with the members of the delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan. Thereafter, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa escorted His Majesty the Sultan to the reception hall, where His Royal Highness renewed his welcome to His Majesty in his second home. For his part, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his thanks to His Royal Highness for the reception.

Following this, His Majesty the Sultan, accompanied by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, proceeded to the Sakhir Palace, where His Majesty will reside during the summit.
