Nagasaki: Authorities in Nagasaki, Japan, ordered the evacuation of about 380,000 people after torrential rains pushed landslide risks to dangerous levels. According to Oman News Agency, the city received its second-highest warning level, with residents urged to stay away from areas prone to landslides, public broadcaster NHK reported. Japan's Meteorological Agency warned that rain would continue in other parts of Kyushu island, raising the risk of overflowing rivers and flooding in low-lying areas. Japan has seen an increase in extreme rainfall events in recent years linked to climate change, triggering repeated landslides in the mountainous country.
