Environment Authority and FAO Collaborate on Natural Resource Conservation Initiatives

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Environment Authority, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), engaged in discussions on enhancing cooperation in environmental protection and natural resource conservation. The focus was on environmental sustainability and strengthening collaboration on biodiversity issues.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting was attended by Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, and Dr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the FAO, during his visit to Oman. The discussions aimed at bolstering relations and coordination with relevant authorities to advance joint interests in the environmental and food sectors.

The dialogue also covered methods to support joint efforts in environmental protection and the preservation of natural resources and biodiversity. The meeting highlighted the importance of promoting environmental sustainability concepts as a shared objective between the two organizations.
