Nicosia: Mohammed Abdullah Al Nahdi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Cyprus, hosted a reception on the occasion of the Glorious National Day. The event witnessed a gathering of notable figures, including Alexis Vafeades, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works of the Republic of Cyprus, who was the guest of honor, along with government officials, business leaders, and esteemed members of Cypriot society. Heads of accredited missions and members of the diplomatic corps were also in attendance.
According to Oman News Agency, during his speech, Ambassador Al Nahdi highlighted the steady advancement of Omani-Cypriot relations, emphasizing this year’s signing of several memoranda of understanding in health, transport, and maritime affairs. He reiterated the commitment of both nations to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
The Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works of the Republic of Cyprus extended his congratulations to the Sultanate of Oman on the Glorious National Day and lauded the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on regional and international matters. He also praised the embassy’s efforts in strengthening bilateral ties and expressed gratitude to the Government of the Sultanate of Oman for its support concerning the Cyprus issue. The ceremony concluded with commemorative photographs and the presentation of a souvenir gift to the guest of honor, symbolizing Omani culture and heritage.
