Beijing: China's domestic crude oil production experienced a 1.2 percent increase year-on-year in April, reaching 17.94 million tonnes. Total output for the first four months of the year amounted to 72.74 million tonnes, marking a 1.3 percent rise compared to the same period in 2025.
According to Oman News Agency, despite the rise in crude oil production, refinery crude throughput faced a 5.8 percent decline in April from a year earlier, totaling 54.65 million tonnes. The cumulative throughput from January to April 2026 was 238.95 million tonnes, reflecting a 0.5 percent decrease.
The data also showed that natural gas production increased by 1.9 percent in April year-on-year, reaching 21.9 billion cubic metres. From January to April 2026, total natural gas output reached 90 billion cubic metres, recording a 2.7 percent increase.
