The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Oman Hockey Association, is spearheading this event that began today and will run until 25 July 2026. It brings together a select group of promising Asian teams from both men's and women's categories, highlighting the Sultanate's growing prominence in continental championships.
According to Oman News Agency, the championship's opening day featured nine matches, with five in the men's division and four in the women's division. In men's competitions, Oman faced a 5-0 defeat against Pakistan, Iran overcame Iraq with the same score, India triumphed over Bangladesh 7-3, Iran dominated Saudi Arabia 9-0, and Pakistan secured a 5-2 victory against Bangladesh.
In the women's competitions, India secured an 8-3 win over Kazakhstan, Oman was defeated by Pakistan 6-0, China achieved a commanding 12-0 victory over Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan overcame Uzbekistan with a score of 5-2.
