Muscat: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in Al Wusta Governorate is actively working to stimulate economic, investment, and commercial activity through a comprehensive set of programs and initiatives that support business owners and investors, while also facilitating a favorable investment climate in the governorate. According to Oman News Agency, Abdulrahim Zayed Al Junaibi, Director of the OCCI branch in Al Wusta Governorate, reported that the number of commercial registrations up to the start of the current year has reached nearly 7,000. This surge is attributed to the high demand from investors and individuals eager to establish promising commercial projects, reflecting continuous growth in economic activity and increasing investor confidence in the governorate's promising opportunities across various sectors. Al Junaibi emphasized the branch's commitment to empowering the private sector and enhancing the business environment by implementing several qualitative initiatives and pro grams. Among these is the Duqm Forum, which focuses on different economic sectors such as smart cities and the blue economy, featuring participation from experts domestically and internationally to share knowledge and explore new business opportunities. The branch also organized the Entrepreneurship Forum, now in its third edition, which tackled modern topics like artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and innovation. This forum provided a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their projects, linking them with supporting entities. An Investment Opportunities Forum was also held in cooperation with government entities, along with periodic meetings with business owners to address and resolve challenges with relevant authorities. Furthermore, the branch conducted workshops and training programs in marketing, tourism, and industrial entrepreneurship, supporting student companies and fostering a culture of innovation. Al Junaibi highlighted the branch's efforts in strengthening economic relations and expanding markets for business owners. This includes organizing trade delegation visits, such as a recent one to Tanzania, to explore economic experiences in logistics, industrial, and agricultural sectors and promote investment opportunities at Duqm's Special Economic Zone. The branch also engaged with government institutions and companies to discuss private sector needs and enhance cooperation. Future visits are planned to Dhofar and North Al Batinah Governorates to gain insights into industrial and logistical experiences while showcasing Al Wusta Governorate's investment opportunities. Al Junaibi noted the growing localized projects in Al Wusta Governorate, benefiting from its economic potential, particularly the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, alongside projects in logistics, industrial, fisheries, tourism, and agriculture.
