Al Buraimi:The Governorate of Al Buraimi has commenced the "Urban October 2026" programme, focusing on urban planning and sustainability. This initiative, organized by the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in Al Buraimi Governorate, operates under the theme "Happy and Prosperous Cities."
According to Oman News Agency, the three-day event was inaugurated by Sayyid Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi. The programme features an exhibition with over 21 pavilions showcasing significant urban projects executed by various government departments and private sector entities. Additionally, 14 working papers on urban planning and sustainability were presented by experts from academic and educational institutions.
The event also includes an endowment hackathon titled "Endowment for a Sustainable Impact," involving 12 teams. This hackathon is a collaborative effort between the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning and the Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Al Buraimi. Various competitions and activities are also planned to promote the concept of urban growth.
