Muscat: The UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher warned that supplies of aid are at risk of running out in Gaza as Israeli entity blocks deliveries to the enclave:
According to Oman News Agency, Fletcher stated during a press conference that significant progress had been made over the past six weeks in providing essential aid to Gaza. Efforts included distributing food, delivering medicine, and restoring hospital operations. Additionally, several new wells were inaugurated, which contributed to improving the situation significantly.
Fletcher emphasized that the delay of eleven days in delivering aid is already too long for civilians in desperate need. He expressed concern over the rapidly depleting supplies, which are essential for the survival of Gaza’s population.
Fletcher highlighted the critical shortage of fuel, which is vital for the operation of lifesaving equipment such as incubators. He warned that the lack of fuel could quickly lead to another humanitarian crisis in the region.
The Israeli occupation had announced on 2 March 2025 the suspension of humanitarian aid entry into the Gaza Strip and the closure of the crossings “until further notice.”
