Muscat: The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, has stated that the Israeli entity’s decision to cut off electricity supplies to the Gaza Strip poses a threat of genocide.
According to Oman News Agency, Albanese highlighted that the absence of electricity in Gaza results in non-operational desalination stations, leading to a lack of clean water. This scenario, she emphasized, serves as a warning of potential genocide.
The UN official further noted that the failure to impose sanctions or an arms embargo against Israel is tantamount to aiding and assisting what could become one of the most preventable genocides in history.
