Manta: Two people were injured and dozens of fishing boats were destroyed after a fire broke out at the port of Manta, one of Ecuador's most important fishing ports on the Pacific coast. Ecuador's Risk Management Agency said the blaze had been brought under control, adding that an investigation is underway to determine its cause and circumstances.
According to Oman News Agency, initial reports indicate that flames engulfed at least 35 vessels moored in the port, most of them small to medium-sized fishing boats made of highly flammable materials. The fire sent towering flames and thick black smoke rising over the port area.
