According to Oman News Agency, the opening was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, who affirmed that Dhofar Governorate is witnessing the continuous implementation of projects in the infrastructure sector. This aligns with the comprehensive development march in the Sultanate of Oman and enhances the quality of services provided to citizens, residents, and visitors.

HH Sayyid Marwan pointed out that Al Mughsail road and bridge is one of the vital projects that will contribute to enhancing the efficiency of the road network in the governorate, improving traffic flow, and facilitating access to the Wilayats of Rakhyut and Dhalkut, as well as tourist sites, thereby supporting tourism, economic, and social activities.

For his part, Eng. Khamis Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Transport, said that opening the road and bridge to traffic comes within the first phase of the project's execution. Meanwhile, the remaining works are ongoing, which include completing aesthetic elements and some construction and utility services scheduled to be completed during the first quarter of next year.

The Undersecretary explained that the project includes the construction of a concrete bridge with a length of approximately 540 meters, supported by 17 columns and two side abutments at a height of 12 meters, alongside the execution of an underpass to facilitate traffic flow to nearby tourist sites, including the waterfront in Al Mughsail area and Marneef Cave (natural fountains).

He also pointed out that the project includes side parking lots and a walkway equipped with lighting, with a width ranging from 2 to 7 meters. Additionally, it is equipped with all traffic safety requirements, including concrete and metal barriers, directional signs, and warning markings, in accordance with the standard specifications approved in the Road Design Manual of the Sultanate of Oman.
