The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, discussed with the Canadian ambassador to Iraq the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The media office of the Minister of Interior said in a statement, "At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Shammari welcomed this visit, stressing his constant keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in line with the foundations of mutual respect and interests."
For his part, the Canadian ambassador affirmed his country's endeavor to develop joint work between the two countries, expressing thanks and appreciation to the minister for the kind reception and welcome.
The Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, also met today with the Iraqi Chargé d'Affairs in Turkey, and during the meeting, a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed, in a way that serves the public interest.
