TGA Conducts Over 290,000 Inspections of Transport Services in September 2024

The Transport General Authority (TGA) conducted more than 290,000 inspections of passenger and freight transport services across various activities during September 2024. The field tours, carried out in cooperation with relevant authorities, resulted in 282,703 inspections of land transport activities, including 276,522 inspections of transport vehicles and 1,384 inspections of foreign vehicles.

The TGA also reported 4,797 field visits to land transport facilities throughout the Kingdom. Additionally, inspection teams conducted 7,851 inspections of maritime transport activities and 11 visits to rail transport services, including Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University train stations and Al-Qurayyat station.

The authority revealed that its land transport inspections led to 24,580 violations being recorded, with an additional 9,830 violations detected through automated monitoring. Maritime transport inspections identified 47 violations, while one observation was noted in rail transport.

The TGA noted a 9
4% compliance rate with land transport regulations and 99% compliance with maritime transport regulations. Common violations included operating without professional driver cards, failing to carry goods transport documents, drivers not adhering to the approved uniform, and operating transport services without valid permits.
