Researchers at Taibah University’s College of Engineering have achieved a breakthrough in biomedical engineering by developing high-precision sensing technology for biomedical applications. This technology has been granted a US patent.
This technology, developed by a research team led by Dr. Hattan F. Abutarboush, is significant because it precisely detects biomarkers in a range of biological materials within seconds. This capability allows for the creation of advanced medical devices that can compete with existing tests for infectious and communicable diseases, ultimately expediting treatment processes.
This technology represents a significant advancement in primary care and emergency response settings, as it functions as a comprehensive, mobile laboratory, resulting in a substantial economic impact.
Furthermore, the patent introduces a system that improves differential sensors’ ability to detect high-frequency electromagnetic radiation. This system compares signals from multiple samples to identify su
btle differences in their electromagnetic properties. Additionally, this technology improves the devices’ response to various electromagnetic wave frequencies, enabling precise resonance control. Consequently, sensitivity and accuracy are significantly enhanced.
