Muscat: A symposium on “Leadership and Management Development,” organized by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), affirmed that developing these skills is a fundamental pillar for enhancing the efficiency of the national workforce. The event emphasized the importance of improving leadership and management capabilities for business owners, CEOs, decision-makers, and human resources specialists through training, education on new strategies and techniques, and exploring the latest trends in the field.
According to Oman News Agency, the symposium was held at the W Hotel Muscat under the auspices of HH Sayyid Loai bin Ghalib Al Said. It was attended by Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OCCI. The symposium’s program, which included papers, a panel discussion, and an interactive session, aimed to develop leadership skills, stimulate innovation, and strengthen economic ties across various sectors.
The symposium also featured a panel discussion titled “Inspirational Leadership in a Rapidly Changing World: Between Self-Empowerment and Crisis Management.” The discussion explored the impact of inspirational leadership on the work environment in large companies, how the concept of leadership is applied in high-pressure settings, the contribution of institutional and corporate leadership to employee empowerment and innovation, and the global perspective on the traits of an inspiring leader in a rapidly changing world.
An interactive session titled “Challenges and Opportunities in a Transforming World” was also held. It examined the challenges business owners face amid international and regional changes and explored the opportunities available. It also addressed strategies for balancing challenges and opportunities to enhance business sustainability.
On the sidelines of the symposium, an exhibition was organized for small and medium-sized enterprise owners. They showcased their products, services, innovations, and initiatives, providing a valuable opportunity for networking and exchanging experiences among participants.
