Muscat: The Sultan Qaboos Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers today welcomed a new cohort of Arabic language learners, comprising 46 students from 17 countries around the world.
According to Oman News Agency, the countries represented include Russia, Belarus, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Spain, India, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Thailand, and Canada. The orientation program began with an introductory day, featuring meetings with academic and administrative staff, as well as coordinators of the cultural program designed for the students. This was followed by a comprehensive tour of the institute’s facilities and services, aimed at providing an integrated learning environment and introducing the institute’s cultural, civilizational, and humanitarian role, along with the elements that make it a leading destination for Arabic language learning.
In addition to Arabic language lessons, the academic program includes a variety of cultural and educational activities, such as cultural evenings and lectures, educational trips to historical and natural sites, Arabic calligraphy classes, and a language partner program that enhances opportunities for linguistic and cultural interaction with the local community.
It is worth noting that the 58th session program will continue for two months, concluding on 22 October 2025, with a total of 160 study hours dedicated to Arabic language and its various skills.
