South A’Sharqiyah Municipal Council Reviews Employment and Sustainability Initiatives

Musandam: The Municipal Council of South A'Sharqiyah Governorate today held its first meeting in 2026 under the chairmanship of Dr. Yahya bin Badr Al Maawali, Governor of South A'Sharqiyah. During the meeting, the Municipal Council was briefed about the progress made in the implementation of ongoing projects and services aimed to support the tracks of comprehensive development.

According to Oman News Agency, the Council discussed the minutes of the Social Affairs Committee, which outlined efforts made in the field of employment, family affairs, and social stability. It stressed the need to upgrade coordination with the authorities concerned to find practical and sustainable solutions that contribute to family stability.

The meeting also reviewed a report on six key initiatives that were undertaken in 2025. The initiatives included one on environment conservation as a social responsibility, emphasizing the recycling of plastic waste; an initiative for the establishment of a public parking lot for the seafront in Al Aijah area in the Wilayat of Sur; an initiative titled 'Zero Neutrality' focusing on cutting down carbon emissions; an initiative on urban renovation in the Wilayat of Al Kamil W'Al-Wafi; an initiative for the allocation of a site for a seafront in the Wilayat of Masirah; and an initiative for the allocation of lands for housing projects and urban plans in the Governorate of South A'Sharqiyah.
