South Al Batinah Governorate Empowers Rural Women with Advanced Equipment for Converting Industries

South al batinah: The Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in South Al Batinah Governorate has launched a project aimed at boosting the output of rural working women in converting industries by providing them with advanced equipment. This initiative has benefited 28 women from the various wilayats of the governorate.

According to Oman News Agency, the project is designed to economically empower rural women and improve their living standards by integrating modern technologies into production processes. It seeks to make effective use of surplus production from agriculture and livestock resources, thereby adding local value and ensuring resource sustainability throughout the year.

The equipment distributed includes spice and coffee grinding machines, natural oil pressing machines, electric honey extractors, vacuum and date packaging machines, egg incubators, cow milking machines, butter sorting devices, and nut butter extraction machines. These tools are expected to enhance production efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce operating costs.

Furthermore, the initiative aims to extend the shelf life of products through modern packaging technologies, enhancing their competitiveness in local markets. It underscores the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources' commitment to sustainable development and the empowerment of women as significant contributors to economic growth. Additionally, the project is anticipated to promote self-sufficiency and strengthen the rural economy in the governorate.
