Situation in Gaza Escalates with Unbearable Civilian Sufferings, Says European Official.

Gaza: High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has expressed grave concern over the escalating situation in Gaza and the Occupied Territories, describing it as deteriorating by the hour with unbearable sufferings for civilians. Borrell emphasized the urgency of ending the conflict, freeing hostages, and ensuring the unhindered access of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He also called for an end to violent actions by settlers and the illegal occupation of Palestinian Territories.

According to Oman News Agency, Borrell made these remarks on the X platform, highlighting the lack of action to halt the violence. He noted the increasing risks to UNRWA’s activities and the dire situation faced by hospitals under siege. Since October 7, 2023, the massive Israeli aggression has resulted in the deaths of 43,374 Palestinians and injuries to 102,261 others, with thousands still missing and inaccessible to rescue teams.

The report outlines the severe humanitarian crisis in
Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories due to the ongoing aggression. The conflict has led to devastating health conditions, with persistent attacks on medical facilities and infrastructure, and a blockade on essential medical supplies and aid. These actions violate International Humanitarian Law, the Geneva Conventions, and International Court of Justice resolutions, while the international community remains largely inactive.
