Second Family Creativity Forum Opens in Nizwa with Focus on Economic Empowerment

Nizwa: The second edition of the Family Creativity Forum commenced today in the Wilayat of Nizwa, organized by the Directorate General of Social Development in A'Dakhiliyah Governorate.

According to Oman News Agency, the event, themed 'Together Towards an Inspiring and Active Family,' spans three days and is being held at the Nizwa Grand Mall. It was inaugurated under the auspices of Sheikh Saleh Diab Al Rubai'ee, Wali of Nizwa. Azza Ali Al Abdali, Head of the Empowerment and Capacity Building Department, highlighted the forum's aim to support productive families by offering economic empowerment, which is essential for Oman's sustainable development.

The Ministry of Social Development's "Tamkeen" program is pivotal in this initiative, focusing on leveraging individual and family potential for community contribution. It promotes self-employment and aids families in efficiently managing small and medium enterprises. This forum is crucial for marketing home-based products and nurturing a culture that values domestic production.

The event also seeks to create partnerships between various Ministry sectors and the private sector, enhancing empowerment programs' reach. It serves as a hub for exchanging ideas and innovations, thereby boosting the local economy. The forum includes activities such as traditional performances, workshops, and interactive sessions catering to all ages.

A notable part of the opening was the announcement of the 'Best Home Project' competition results for the governorate. Organized by the Department of Partnership and Community Development, the competition featured 57 families. The top three winners were honored for their excellence, and seven families received encouragement awards for their project sustainability and creativity in the local market.
