The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) introduced the UN International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU’s) AI Readiness Framework, the first globally recognized tool to assist countries in assessing their artificial-intelligence (AI) preparedness and fostering international cooperation in the field.
The launch took place during the third edition of the Global AI Summit (GAIN Summit), hosted by SDAIA in Riyadh from September 10 to 12.
The ITU framework offers a comprehensive set of guidelines to help countries evaluate their AI capabilities, develop strategies for AI applications, and promote sustainable development and economic growth. It aims to establish a global standard for measuring AI readiness and facilitate international collaboration.
The framework is designed for a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, AI industry leaders, international organizations, development agencies, academic institutions, AI practitioners, businesses, NGOs, and med
