SDAIA Equips Over 11,000 Teachers with AI Skills to Foster Future Generation of AI Pioneers

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) prioritizes the enhancement of national competencies in data and artificial intelligence by implementing advanced training and development programs. These initiatives aim to elevate awareness across various demographics regarding these technologies and bolster global competitiveness. This effort aligns with SDAIA’s mandate to supply data and innovative capabilities, thereby fulfilling the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to cultivate national competencies for the advancement of the Kingdom’s present and future.

On World Teachers’ Day, SDAIA demonstrates its commitment to the mission of educators by offering various programs aimed at enhancing teachers’ understanding of data technologies and artificial intelligence, equipping them with essential skills to effectively impart this knowledge to students across different levels of public education in the Kingdom. Over 11,000 teachers have been trained in these technologies and received a sui
te of educational and developmental programs in data and artificial intelligence, fostering a generation capable of advancing the Kingdom’s global standing and fostering the industry of intelligent future leaders.

The “Future Intelligence Programmers” program, organized by SDAIA in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, aims to train computer teachers in the principles of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision, thereby enhancing their expertise in these technologies and fostering the development of national competencies. This initiative prepared around 2,000 teachers via over 50,000 training hours and more than 10,000 hours of supervised experience provided by various professionals in data and artificial intelligence.

The “Artificial Intelligence Hour,” an initiative of the National Olympiad for Programming and Artificial Intelligence (ATHKA), organized by SDAIA in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), is a
training program designed to help students understand artificial intelligence concepts. It has benefited 575,000 students and involved 9,700 teachers from various public and private schools across the Kingdom, aiming to disseminate knowledge of artificial intelligence and its evolving future to inspire this generation to advance toward the realm of advanced technologies.

In alignment with SDAIA’s initiatives to enhance educational science through advancements in artificial intelligence technologies, a report was published on generative artificial intelligence in education to assist teachers in integrating these technologies into the teaching process. The report addressed use cases, global experiences with generative artificial intelligence in education, ethical considerations, challenges and risks, as well as future directions for generative artificial intelligence in education.
