The Head of the New Generation Parliamentary Bloc, Sarwa Abdel Wahed, threatened, on Thursday, not to vote on the budget and to resort to the Federal Supreme Court in the event of removing the clause on the return of the Kurdistan region’s salary savings.
Abdel Wahed said in her tweet, “So far, the return of salary savings has not been removed, and if it is removed, we will not vote for the budget and strike them in the Federal Court.”
The Parliamentary Finance Committee voted, earlier, to oblige the Kurdistan region to pay 10% on a monthly basis from the salaries deducted to its employees, while including this in the budget amendments that will be voted on this evening, Thursday.
The House of Representatives decided to postpone its scheduled session until Thursday evening, in order to discuss the 2023 budget, leading to a vote on it. / End
