SAMEC Accredited as One of International Centers Capable of Receiving and Processing Distress Signal Data

The Saudi Center for Search and Rescue (SAMEC) has been accredited by the Spanish Center supervising the south-central information distribution region of the world as one of the international centers capable of receiving and processing all (LGM - MCC) distress signal data.

The centre's accreditation came after passing all the tests conducted by the Spanish center, and under the supervision of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, through receiving and processing all distress signal data issued by all types of devices designated for aircraft, ships, or individuals, which are monitored via three types of satellite systems, Low-Earth Orbiting (LEO), Geostationary Orbit (GEO) and Medium-Earth Orbiting (LEOSAR/GEOSAR/MEOSAR). This recognition will enable the implementation of the Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS) concept.
