Royal Camel Corps Makhayil Wins HM The Sultan’s Camel Cup 2025

Barka: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, today presided over the closing ceremony of His Majesty the Sultan’s Camel Cup Festival 2025. The event was held at the Royal Camel Corps Racecourse in Al Fuleij, Wilayat of Barka, and was organised by the Royal Court Affairs, represented by the Royal Camel Corps.

According to Oman News Agency, the final day of the festival included six rounds, where “Makhayil” of the Royal Camel Corps clinched the title of His Majesty the Sultan Camel Cup for the second consecutive year, triumphing in the fifth round over a distance of 8 kilometres. The Royal Camel Corps also secured second place with “Rahiya,” while Al Bashayer Camels’ “Al Reef” took third place.

Throughout the event, attendees were entertained by Omani heritage bands performing traditional folklore music, alongside camel shows by the Royal Camel Corps. The shows featured Ardha runs, camel polo, and camel cart racing, with the Al Azzi art tableau marking the festival’s grand finale.

At the closing ceremony, HH Sayyid Shihab presented the trophies to the top winners of the festival’s various rounds. The event was graced by the presence of Royal Family members, ministers, and senior officials, adding to the festival’s prestige and cultural significance.
