Al batinah: Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), accompanied by Lieutenant General Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Gharibi, Chief of Staff of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF), and a number of military commanders from the two countries, attended the practical demonstration of launching surface-to-air missiles as part of a joint Omani-Saudi naval exercise codenamed Winds of Peace 2026.
According to Oman News Agency, the exercise was carried out by vessels of the RNO fleet and the RSNF in the Al Batinah maritime zone. The commanders received a briefing on the joint training objectives of the naval exercise before witnessing a live demonstration of shooting at assumed naval targets. The drill showcased the operational efficiency of the participating units.
The exercise is part of the RNO's annual training plans to ensure the readiness of its fleet, enhance military capabilities, and improve maritime security. It also serves to facilitate the exchange of expertise with the navies of Arab and friendly countries.
