Preliminary Rounds for Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition Begin in Bausher

Muscat: The preliminary rounds of the 33rd Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition commenced today in Muscat. The event is being held in the lecture hall of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Bausher.

According to Oman News Agency, Dr. Said bin Humaid Al Dhoyani, Vice President of the Preliminary and Final Rounds Committees, announced that 154 competitors are participating at the Bausher center. The participants are competing across seven levels: Memorizing the entire Holy Quran; Memorizing 24 consecutive parts; Memorizing 18 consecutive parts; Memorizing 12 consecutive parts; Memorizing 6 consecutive parts; Memorizing 4 consecutive parts; and memorizing 2 consecutive parts.

The competition is organized by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science. It aims to instill spiritual values, develop Quranic skills, and encourage healthy competition among the participants. The event also reflects a commitment to memorizing the Holy Quran and nurturing gifted youth.
