Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has announced that a total of 12,936 Omani citizens have secured employment as part of a strategic programme aimed at job creation and expatriate replacement in both government and private sectors during the first half of 2025.
According to Oman News Agency, the distribution of these jobs included 2,316 positions in the public sector and 10,620 in the private sector, fulfilling 38 percent of the programme’s target. The Ministry also reported that the number of training opportunities tied to employment reached 4,292, achieving 39 percent of the target rate, with the government sector offering 473 and the private sector 3,819 training opportunities.
The Ministry highlighted that the total number of employment and training opportunities amounted to 17,228, reaching 38.28% of the target. Additionally, the overall employment figure, which includes first-time workers and those with previous work experience, stood at 35,807 jobs. This comprises 17,228 first-time employment opportunities and 18,579 roles for individuals with prior work experience.
