OQ Refineries and Petroleum Industries Signs Strategic Agreements at 2026 Forum

Muscat:OQ Refineries and Petroleum Industries (OQRPI) has signed two significant agreements during its 2026 Customer Engagement Forum, which was held under the theme 'Growing Together'.

According to Oman News Agency, the event was conducted under the auspices of Mahmoud Abdullah Al Awaini, Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, with attendance from senior officials, government representatives, customers, and business partners.

The agreements were signed by Said Al Mahrouqi, Chief Commercial Officer of OQRPI, and Eng. Sulaiman Ali Al Hadhrami, Chief Executive Officer of O Bunkering. The first agreement, with O Bunkering, involves the sale and supply of 48 million liters of marine fuel annually. This initiative aims to bolster Oman's marine bunkering market by enabling small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to directly source fuel from OQRPI, thereby eliminating intermediaries and enhancing market competitiveness.

The second agreement, signed with Sanvira, involves the sale of OQRPI's entire petroleum coke production, totaling 450,000 tonnes annually. This move is intended to optimize product management efficiency and expand commercial collaboration opportunities.

Both agreements are part of OQRPI's strategy to expand commercial partnerships, improve operational efficiency, and create more opportunities for SMEs within the energy sector's value chain. These efforts align with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, focusing on strengthening local content and increasing market competitiveness.

Almuhallab Said Al Saidi, Vice President of Commercial Operations at OQRPI, emphasized the significance of cooperation and shared efforts in achieving sustainable growth. He noted that the forum's theme, 'Growing Together', underscores the company's commitment to fostering strong partnerships based on trust and knowledge sharing, which are vital for business development, overcoming challenges, and discovering new opportunities.
