Muscat: The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ): today organized a workshop on insurance of commercial and industrial establishments in economic zones, free zones and industrial zones. The workshop saw the participation of representatives of government units and private sector entities concerned.
According to Oman News Agency, the workshop offered an opportunity to discuss ways for developing the system of insurance in the areas supervised by OPAZ. It laid emphasis on integration and coordination among the parties concerned.
The workshop also elaborated on means of raising the levels of security and safety in the abovementioned establishments, the protection of investments and the promotion of the business climate in special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities.
Working papers presented at the workshop focused on the role of insurance companies in providing insurance coverage for establishments.
The workshop was in pursuance of efforts made by OPAZ to consolidate the system of protection and risk management in special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities, in line with a vision to maintain the sustainability of investments and improve the readiness of facilities to face various risks.
