Dunhuang: Represented by the Ministry of Education, the Sultanate of Oman is participating in the 2025 International Art Week in Dunhuang, China, from 9 to 14 August under the theme “Ode to Peace”. The event draws artists, youth talents, teachers, and intellectuals from various countries to promote cultural dialogue and innovative arts.
According to Oman News Agency, the event aims to integrate cultural heritage into educational curricula, fostering understanding among nations. Students from Salalah Basic Education School for Boys, affiliated with UNESCO in Dhofar Governorate, performed the Omani folk art “Al Bar’aa”. This art form, recognized by UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2010, highlights the spirit of chivalry, courage, generosity, and hospitality, traits renowned in Dhofar Governorate.
Oman’s participation provides an opportunity to showcase its cultural depth internationally, enhancing cooperation in education and culture, and supporting its presence in global cultural forums.
