Omani Trade Delegation Engages with Tanzanian Business Leaders

Dar es salaam: An Omani trade delegation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) held meetings with representatives from Tanzanian businesses across various sectors as part of a visit aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and investment ties.

According to Oman News Agency, the meetings took place at the Tanzanian Ministry of Industry and Trade and were led by Dr. Salim Al Junaibi, a State Council Member and Member of the Board of Directors of the OCCI. Al Junaibi, who also heads the OCCI branch in Al Wusta Governorate, emphasized the visit as a crucial step toward boosting trade and investment cooperation between Oman and Tanzania, highlighting Tanzania’s strategic position as a gateway to Africa.

Dr. Hashil Twibo Abdallah, Permanent Secretary of the Tanzanian Ministry of Industry and Trade, welcomed the delegation by underscoring the longstanding economic and historical ties between the two nations. He advocated for the establishment of investment partnerships that would benefit both countries.

The Tanzanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Department of East Asia Cooperation also praised the private sector’s significant role in strengthening the bilateral partnership. The official recognized the Omani investors’ contributions to various sectors and reiterated the Tanzanian government’s appreciation for their endeavors.

The Omani delegation’s visit included tours of some of Tanzania’s largest companies, focusing on sectors such as meat production, farming, food industries, and logistics services.
