Oman Wins International Award for Excellence in Serving Pilgrims During Hajj Season 1446 AH

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman: has received the ‘Commitment to Health Capacity Award’ presented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, during the annual closing ceremony of Hajj Season 1446 AH. The ceremony aimed to honour outstanding Hajj Affairs Offices and non-profit organizations engaged in serving the pilgrims.

According to Oman News Agency, the award was presented in recognition of the efforts made by the Omani Hajj Mission in providing high-level preparedness and quality health services to pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman.

Every year the Omani Hajj Mission is accompanied by a medical team from the Ministry of Health. The medical team comprises specialized health personnel, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. The clinic set up by the Omani team operates in coordination with counterparts in Saudi Arabia.

During the ceremony, Dr. Tawfiq Fawzan Al Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announced the 1447 AH Hajj Season’s Preliminary Arrangements Document that was delivered to Hajj affairs offices. The step, aimed to raise the level of preparedness for the next season of pilgrimage, deals with contracts and other arrangements like booking, establishing sites, and integrating the service system.

In his speech, Dr. Tawfiq credited the success of the 1446 AH Hajj Season to the combined efforts of government departments, civil society institutions, and Hajj affairs offices.
