Kuwait city: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the meeting of GCC Culture Undersecretaries, which was held in the State of Kuwait. This meeting serves as a preparatory session preceding the 29th Meeting of GCC Ministers of Culture. The Sultanate of Oman was represented by Sayyid Said Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting addressed several topics on the agenda, most notably discussing the annual plan for joint Gulf events and activities. Key issues included the Culture Statistics Platform, which handles statistical data within the GCC Statistical Centre website, as well as the preparation of a Gulf Strategy for Cultural Creative Industries 2027-2030.
Further discussions focused on areas of joint cultural work between the GCC states and a number of countries and international bodies and institutions concerned with cultural affairs. The meeting also included following up on the implementation of the resolutions from the 28th Meeting of GCC Ministers of Culture.
