Riyadh: At the behest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, headed the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation that took part in the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today, in the presence of monarchs, country leaders and heads of delegations. During the summit, Sayyid Badr conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the monarchs, country leaders and heads of delegations, along with His Majesty the Sultan’s sincere wishes for the summit’s success.
According to Oman News Agency, Sayyid Badr remarked in his speech that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon is worsening due to persistent Israeli aggression, resulting in numerous fatalities and depriving many of basic rights. He described the bombardment, destruction, and targeted attacks on residential neighborhoods, health, and educational facilities as violations that surpass all humanitarian standards. Sayyid Badr emphasized Oman’s commitment to advocating for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the cessation of Israel’s operations in Lebanon. He highlighted the necessity of an independent international investigation into these violations, stating that justice underpins peace and accountability is essential to ending ongoing suffering. The minister noted the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, which threatens regional stability.
Sayyid Badr pointed out that achieving regional stability requires a comprehensive vision based on truth and justice. He reiterated Oman’s support for the Saudi initiative to form an international coalition aimed at achieving a Two-State Solution. Sayyid Badr stressed the importance of taking practical steps towards international recognition of the Palestinian State, commending countries that have recognized it and urging others to do the same.

Sayyid Badr underscored that justice for the Palestinian cause requires unified will and action. He prayed for success for those undertaking noble initiatives and for the support of justice and peace by the Arab and Islamic nations.
