Oman Looks Forward to Successful in Paris Olympics

Khalid Mohammed Al Zubair, Chairman of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), Head of the Omani delegation taking part in the Summer Olympics (Paris 2024), has said that Oman's participation in the current edition of the Olympics is in pursuance of engagements in Olympic events that began since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Al Zubair voiced OOC's determination to promote Oman's presence in this important global Olympic games. The official opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 will be held on 26 July 2024 at the Seine River in Paris, in the presence of Basil Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth, Ahmed Mohammed Al Araimi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of France, and Khalid Mohammed Al Zubair, Chairman of Omani Olympic Committee. Oman's administrative mission completed all necessary procedures for the entry of players and administrators of the national teams to the Olympic Village in Paris. The national athletic, swimming and shooting team are expected to arrive tomorrow (Thursday 25 July). Marksman Said Ali Al Khatri (of the National Shooting Team) will spearhead Oman's official participation in Paris 2024, where will debut the preliminary qualifying rounds of 'Trap' event, which will be on 29 and 30 July at Chateauroux Shooting Centre. The second appearance of Oman national team players will be made through swimmer Issa Al Adawi, his second Olympic participation in a row after Tokyo 2020 Olympics.Al Adawi will compete the 100-metre freestyle competition on 30 July at the Paris Aquatics Centre. In the meantime, Omani sprinter Mazoon Al Alawi, who is participating in the Olympics for the third time after Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics, will compete in the 100 metre event on 2 August at the Stade de France. Then, Omani sprinter Ali Al Balushi will launch his first Olympic participation on 3 August in the same category of competitions and in the same stadium. Oman sports persons are enthusiastic and bracing for a successful participation in Paris 2024.
