Salalah: The deliberations of the 4th Conference on Judicial Inspection, held under the slogan “Towards a More Effective Judicial Inspection,” began today in the Dhofar Governorate. Hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Supreme Judiciary Council, the conference includes participation from the General Secretariat of the Arab Network of Judicial Inspection Services, the Council of Europe, and the European Network of Judicial Inspection Services (RESIJ).
According to Oman News Agency, the inauguration of the three-day conference was held under the patronage of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar. The event featured a visual presentation on Oman’s experience in judicial inspection, along with an overview of the Omani judiciary’s journey. Participants and contributors to the conference’s organization were also honored.
The conference is attended by representatives from Arab and European countries, aiming to review successful international experiences in developing judicial oversight and evaluation tools. It seeks to achieve prompt justice and enhance society’s confidence in the judicial system. Judges, members of the Public Prosecution, and specialists in judicial inspection work are present to exchange expertise, promote transparency principles, and review practical cases reflecting the challenges faced by judicial inspection bodies.
Topics discussed include judicial work ethics, judicial independence, and the freedom of expression for judges. The conference will also address mechanisms for evaluating judicial performance, professional development, and ensuring the right to litigation without discrimination. Innovative legal mechanisms for examining court complaints effectively will also be covered.
The event emphasizes judicial transparency and the importance of improving judgment reasoning and interpretation while maintaining confidentiality. The role of modern technology in court operations and digital innovation, along with data protection and privacy, are also on the agenda. Additionally, enhancing international cooperation in judicial inspection through expertise exchange and building communication bridges at regional and international levels will be discussed.
