Oman Facilitates Successful Repatriation of Eternity C Crew from Yemen

Muscat: As part of its ongoing humanitarian endeavours and dedicated efforts regarding the status of the crew of the vessel Eternity C in Yemen, the Sultanate of Oman successfully facilitated the crew’s repatriation today.

According to Oman News Agency, the eleven crew members, holding nationalities of the Philippines and India, were transported from Sana’a to Muscat aboard an aircraft of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO). This transfer is the preliminary step for their final return to their respective home countries.

Hans Leo Cacdac, Secretary of Labour of the Philippines, expressed his country’s thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. These efforts culminated in the release of the crew members, paving the way for their return to their country and families. He also expressed pleasure at being in Oman and the hospitality he received, affirming the excellent relations shared between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of the Philippines, particularly in the labor sector.

Godavarthi Venkata Srinivas, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Sultanate of Oman, highlighted the deep-rooted historical relations between Oman and India. He noted that this relationship encompasses economic cooperation and maritime neighborliness, with diplomatic relations spanning 70 years. He expressed his country’s thanks for Oman’s efforts, which resulted in the release of the Indian national following coordination with various parties.

The released Indian national, Anel Kumar, expressed his joy, thanking the Sultanate of Oman for its efforts that led to his release, allowing him to begin procedures for returning home. Julimo Taberos, one of the released Filipino nationals, also expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Sultanate of Oman under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and looked forward to returning to his country and family.
