Muscat: Oman Expo and International Forum commenced today at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the event features participation from government entities and companies from local, regional, and international sectors.
According to Oman News Agency, the Republic of Trkiye is this year's guest of honor, highlighting efforts to strengthen investment partnerships and showcase opportunities within the Omani economy. The event aligns with Oman Vision 2040's objectives to enhance the business environment.
The opening ceremony, presided over by HH Sayyid Faisal Turki Al Said, emphasized the event's role as a premier platform for establishing partnerships between Oman's and Trkiye's private sectors. He noted the exhibition's potential in facilitating collaborations that open gateways into Turkish and European markets.
Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the OCCI Board of Directors, stated that the forum represents a strategic opportunity for decision-makers, government officials, business leaders, and investors to explore investments and partnerships. He welcomed Trkiye's participation, reflecting on the mutual desire to enhance trade and investment cooperation.
Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, observed rapid growth in economic relations between Oman and Trkiye, citing a 21 percent increase in registered Turkish companies in Oman during 2025.
Sezai U§armak, Deputy Minister of Trade of Trkiye, described the forum as an economic platform fostering communication between the Omani and Turkish business communities. He noted continuous development in trade and investment volume, contributing to comprehensive economic integration.
Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, expressed interest in strengthening trade relations with Oman, highlighting Islamic banking and petrochemicals as key sectors for cooperation.
Sheikh Salim Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the Oman-Trkiye Business Council, emphasized the forum's role in creating opportunities and transforming visions into projects with sustainable economic impact. He highlighted the promising investment climate in Oman, offering opportunities in various sectors.
Dr. Mohammed Al Barwani of MB Holding Group shared insights on the group's successful investment experience in Trkiye, citing strategic factors and a qualified workforce as key attractions.
The event included the signing of several MoUs between Omani and Turkish companies in information technology and medical services. The forum's program featured panel discussions and sessions on investment opportunities and trade legislation, continuing over two days with presentations, B2B meetings, and showcases by participating institutions.
