‘Oman Essence’ Challenge Program Begins for Female Students from A’Dakhiliyah, Muscat

Muscat: The Directorate General of Scouts and Guides, in cooperation with the Oman Challenge Foundation, has launched the Oman “Gawhar” (Essence) Challenge Program. The initiative targets female students from the A’Dakhiliyah and Muscat Governorates with the goal of empowering them and enhancing their leadership skills, self-reliance, and dedication to community service.

According to Oman News Agency, the program’s second phase is currently in progress, involving 20 female students and supervisors from the A’Dakhiliyah Governorate education directorate. This phase is taking place from 7-9 October 2025. The third phase is scheduled to include 20 female students and supervisors from the Muscat Governorate education directorate and will happen from 21-23 October. Both phases are being conducted in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar.

The program aims to bolster the students’ self-confidence and enhance their capacity to face various challenges while developing leadership skills, fostering a sense of responsibility, and encouraging teamwork. It emphasizes the values of generosity and community service, offering practical and interactive activities that blend learning with real-world experiences.

Activities within the program comprise training workshops and a range of field activities designed to simulate life situations that demand critical thinking and sound decision-making skills. Additionally, discussion panels are organized to stimulate creativity and effective communication among participants.

The “Gawhar/Essence” program stands out as one of the pioneering initiatives by the Oman Challenge Foundation. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, it seeks to cultivate a confident generation equipped to serve the nation and community, and to advance sustainable development goals.
