Oman Engages in Key Arab Industrial Development Preparatory Meetings

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is actively participating in the preparatory session for the 29th General Assembly of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization (AIDSMO) in Tripoli. The session, which concludes tomorrow, aims to set the stage for discussions on various industrial development initiatives among Arab nations.

According to Oman News Agency, Oman is represented by Dr. Hilal Abdullah Al Sinani, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Tunisia and Non-Resident Ambassador to the State of Libya. This participation is part of the preparations for the official session where Oman is represented by an official delegation led by Eng. Ghalib Said Al Maamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry.

The preparatory meetings are a precursor to the official launch of the 29th session of the organization's General Assembly. The assembly is witnessing participation from various ministers of industry and heads of delegations from Arab countries. The agenda includes reviewing the organization's reports and achievements, evaluating implemented programs and initiatives, and approving future work plans to develop industry, standardization, and mineral resources sectors.

On the sidelines, Dr. Hilal Abdullah Al Sinani attended a meeting in Tripoli between Eng. Ghalib Said Al Maamari and the Libyan Minister of Industry and Minerals. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations between Oman and Libya, with discussions on joint cooperation in the fields of industry, mining, and standards and metrology. Opportunities to enhance investment partnerships between the two countries were also explored.

Oman's participation underscores its commitment to fostering joint Arab action, contributing to initiatives and policies for the Arab industrial sector's development, supporting economic integration, and promoting investment in the industrial and mining sectors, aligning with sustainable development goals and enhancing Arab economies' competitiveness.
