Oman Engages in GCC Meeting on Islamic Affairs in Kuwait

Muscat: Represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, the Sultanate of Oman participated in the 10th meeting of assistants to ministers of Islamic and religious affairs in GCC states. The meeting was held in Kuwait, with Ahmed Saleh Al Rashdi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, representing Oman.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on the exchange of research and experiences in the field of endowments. Discussions included the accomplishments made during the ‘GCC Endowment Week’ and proposals to leverage artificial intelligence in Islamic affairs. Activities of the ‘GCC week for the protection of religious and moral values of the family’ were also on the agenda.

The meeting emphasized the importance of exchanging research in endowments and Islamic affairs to enhance relations among GCC states. A proposal to initiate a national index to assess the impact of endowments on society was also discussed, alongside a contest titled ‘Mafaz’ aimed at raising awareness about endowments and charitable actions.

Participants looked into the World Endowment Day and the progress in applying standards to highlight the true image of Islam. The meeting addressed measures to confront campaigns of hatred, fanaticism, extremism, and sectarianism.
